Jack Murtha, a non-coward, goes on a new mission.

John Murtha, who served 37 years in the Marines, including distinguiished service in Vietnam, and who is now a Congressman from Pennsylvania, decided about a year ago that the War in Iraq needed to be ended. He said so. As a consequence, he was called a "coward" on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives by a woman named "Mean Jean" Schmidt, a U.S. Congresswoman from Ohio.

Now, Murtha has decided to go to "Mean Jean's" home District and campaign against her. The people of Ohio will not decide this year who is or isn't a coward, but they may choose who is or isn't decent enough to speak for them in Congress. Arboretum dwellers may not be full-fledged supporters of Mr. Murtha's politics, but we admire his courage.
