He argues that both sides in the Global Warming
debate are too negative. Maybe the problem
hasn't been solved because we haven't really
tried to solve it. In the past 30 years, we've
made huge advances in fighting other types
of pollution---because we TRIED!

I think this is "hope" not "good news." There is no good news about global warming.
Well, the good news is that maybe if we were to tackle this global warming problem with the same societal determination we put into other types of environmental problems, we could solve this one too.
