Shattered

"And the sad part for everyone, especially our troops in the field and the Iraqi populace trying to live another day without being kidnapped and shot, is that Shrub hasn't the slightest idea how to fix what he has broken."

The Mandarin, whom we have quoted before - (we do not know him, by the way) - has written a very nice essay about the destruction of Iraq and the "Pottery Barn" analogy. It is worth your time to click here and read it:

Thanks for the compliment. I live in L.A. now but did my advanced degrees at Indiana back in the 1970s. I still fondly remember the 1976 basketball season when we had the privilege of beating Michigan twice in the regular season and then a third time for good measure in the national championship game. I wonder how many generations will have to pass before someone in Iraq will be able to substitute soccer, Tikrit and Najaf in that story without having to mention killing?
