A lot of your freedom died yesterday.

Were you paying attention?

Nope. We're all too busy being hypnotized by the spectacle that is the self destruction of Britney Spears. Obviously YOU haven't been paying attention. If you were, it would be the top story on your blog every single day just like it is for all the major news organizations here in the States.

Who cares about freedom when we can have mindless celebrity voyeurism?

Scot, I wish you had written more about this from your own point of view.

I am wondering how permanent the "death" of our liberties are. I've no doubt that if certain people win the next election, they will be 'in extremis,' but don't you think there is a chance to re-breathe life into our democracy if, say, Obama gets elected?

That's not optimism I'm hearing from ---you is it Bud? Maybe we're rubbing off on you :)

I don't know if any or all of the corruption can be brought to light after this administration is gone--- but I am hoping that the next administration will have the courage to repair much of the damage.

I'm sorry, I was too busy informing on people whom I think are disloyal.

It's a tough job.
