QUESION;

Does anyone besides me think the British behaved like abject cowards during this hostage crisis?

I'd say that the way the situation turned out was as positive as I could imagine (i.e. nobody got killed over it). Had they acted less "cowardly", I believe the outcome may have not been as pleasant.

T.V.C.= I think you're saying that since the situatiojn turned out the way you wanted, the process must have been pristine?

Maybe one outcome would have been that the Royal navy shot those privateers right there in the water. Imagine 15 American sailors being seized without attempting top defend themselves. Would you have any questions about that?

Now you're getting into hypotheticals. If the outcome was positive, who am I to critique the means? The whole situation over there is absolute madness. I'm not going to get into nitpicking the logic or morality of any particular decision when the context is so far skewed outside of that which makes any sense whatsoever.

Could the captives not at least have delivered their lines woodenly? Could they not have held the gift bags without looking inside and smiling at one another? I'll never be placed in their position, so I know it is unfair to jucge, but it appeared they'd had no training in how to behave.

Diplomacy is seldom the wrong choice. Why hasn't either side come out with a confirmation of the GPS coordinates on the boat location ??? Has to be common Navy equipment by now. doesn't it???
Leads me to believe they were in Iranian waters.
