There's a old baseball axiom that in important games the ball always seems to find the worst fielder.

In football it's more deliberate than that. USC found #14, whoever he is, and every big pass completion other than the final touchdown was thrown at him. Of course, the fact that Michigan seldom put any pressure on the SC qb made #14's job more difficult than it might have been.

Not a very strong game by the boys in blue. Just not a very inspired effort at all. I´m always amazed that any team which has earned a bowl berth could possibly come out flat in such a big game. Happens to Michigan all the time, alas.

The unfortunate thing about the constant focus on sports, at any college or university, is that the greatness of the school is often ignored. Having said that, it would appear that Michigan adjusts their schedule so that they can acquire an undefeated season each year and therefore gain a bowl bid. When they finally meet a "ranked" team they are usually punished. The same will happen to Ohio State next week.

Incidently, both Ohio State and Michigan are attempting to get SVSU for their homecoming games next year, however they are nervous as SVSU has been playing quite well.
