Warning from NRDC

The National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) which could use donations, naturally, is warning that because the Bush Administration has lost a number of court cases and a number of Congressional battles concerning environmental protection, they are trying some new tactics.

"Thwarted in repeated attempts to push a pro-polluter agenda through Congress, the Bush Administration is now escalating its use of executive power in order to weaken our nation's environmental safeguards and plunder our natural heritage.

"Federal agencies are drafting or issuing a slew of corporate-sponsored rules and policies that would increase air and water pollution while opening up public wildlands to commercial exploitation. 'With just two years remaining in the president's term, the White House appears to be going for broke,' says NRDC President Frances Beinecke. 'These attacks can only be stopped in the courts, and with the support of our Members, that's what NRDC is going to do.'" LINK
